Come be part of an exciting opportunity to learn Italian in a fun and delicious environment!  Join Italian instructor Theresa Levy, in conjunction with Tavolino Ristorante Italiano, for a weekly two hour journey, where you can learn and practice the fundamentals of the Italian language while enjoying a gourmet Italian meal created by master Italian chef, Massimo Tenino.

 

This six week course will focus on the elements of the Italian language that are most immediately useful when interacting with Italians, and will make your next trip to Italy even more enjoyable.  It will provide conversational training for a wide range of common settings.  Held in Tavolino’s private banquet room, participants will learn to grasp the most romantic of the Romance Languages.  During the class, each student will have the opportunity to order off the gourmet menu, created by Tenino.

 

Tucson Italian is now offering a "Beyond the Basics" class on Thursdays from 11:30am - 1:30pm.  The Thursday class is for those with experience in the fundamentals and would like an extra challenge.  The class offers the same great experience, including the gourmet Tavolino lunch.

 

Instructor, Theresa Levy, Ph.D., has over 20 years of experience teaching Italian privately, as well having taught Italian for 9 years at the University of Arizona, and at Pima Community College since 2009.  She’s second generation Italian, whose aunts and uncles were all born in Italy.  She has also lived, worked, traveled, and visited family and friends all over Italy.  Because she is also fluent in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese, she can make useful connections to their similarities and differences, as needed.  She has been dearly loved by her students, all of whom leave her classes with a deeper understanding and command of the Italian language.

 

Chef Massimo Tenino, Owner of Tavolino Ristorante Italiano, was born and raised in Italy, and earned his cooking skills from his mother and grandmother.  He spent five years cooking in Los Angeles and five years cooking in San Francisco, before moving to Tucson and opening Tavolino in 2003.

 

There are two beginner sessions offered.  Wednesdays from 11am-1pm or from 2pm-4pm.  The intermediate session is offered on Thursdays, from 11:30am - 1:30pm.  The cost of the six week course is $270, which includes your choice of a lunch entrée from Tavolino's gourmet menu, plus a mista salad and a non-alcoholic drink (bottled water and espresso drinks are extra).  Next session starts August 2nd!  Class size is limited, so act now to reserve your spot.
